Why choose Chris Jones Joinery & Carpentry?
Chris Jones Joinery and Carpentry is a small workshop, run by Chris himself, building bespoke joinery for homes across North-East Essex. Chris has over 20 years in the trade , a three-year joinery apprenticeship, five years with the same firm, and 12+ years running Chris Jones Joinery (formed as a limited company in 2022 as the business grew). Every project is designed, built, and installed personally , you deal with him from the first site visit to the last coat of paint.
The workshop is set up for proper cabinet-making: solid, moisture-resistant carcases, quality soft-close runners and hinges, and a spray booth for finishing. Chris is a full member of the Guild of Master Craftsmen (No. 127103), so the workmanship is independently vetted. That means the doors, drawer fronts, and end panels of your kitchen or wardrobe go through a professional PU spray finish rather than being brush-painted on site, so the paint is even, hard-wearing, and doesn't chip on the edges.
Because it's a small workshop, everything is scoped honestly and quoted up front. You get sketches, samples, a fixed price, and a clear payment schedule before any timber is cut. There are no upsells and no vague daily rates - you know what you're paying for, and when.
Once the job is finished, you get a workmanship guarantee, and Chris is at the end of a phone if anything needs looking at afterwards. Most work comes through word of mouth for the same reason: people call back for the next project, and their friends call for the first one.
